I will be watching the Grammys this year. Bon Iver, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, The Civil Wars, Mumford & Sons, Death Cab For Cutie, Gungor, and Chris Thile & Michael Daves have been nominated for awards.
At least 4 of those fall into some of my all time favorite bands/musicians.

Magical List of Favorite Music From This Year
My friend who I saw over break started talking music with me and was asking for some suggestions. I just posted it all on his wall and this is what it consisted of. So if you need suggestions, these are some of my favorites of the music I’ve started listening to this year (except for Bon Iver…been listening them for a couple years)
Okay, here we go-

I actually saw them open for Bon Iver recently. They were really good.
Ohh yea! I forgot. It’s crazy to me the difference between all the venues they’re playing shows in. In February I think they’re coming to St. Louis to headline, but they are playing at this venue called...

My favorite thing is when I’m making bagel dough at work and Satan’s Saxophones comes on my iPod but my hands are covered in flour so I can’t change the song and end up listening to all of it.
I think I may have had this song in my itunes at some point and straight up deleted it because it’s just so awful hahaha

Are they opening for Radiohead?
Yes ma’am!
You might know this already, but it looks like they’re going to be in San Fran on December 6!

You’re better off with no music!

Calling all Sufjan-fan ukulele playing people:
Are any of you good at figuring out chords/tabs for songs?
If so, anyone interested in figuring out the chords for his song Barcarola?
Let me know if you do…I’m pretty bad at this type of stuff, so I figured I’d check with all of the tumbling people. thanks.

it takes quite a while to catch up to my dash from the day before. usually I don’t bother and just watch current posts. I just like too many blogs. granted a lot of the blogs i follow also dont post much or are bands blogs so they’re rarely updated.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! I get what you’re talking about. Making small talk with EVERYBODY is hard for me. It feels dishonest if I actually don’t hit it off with somebody.

Trying to explain to my mom why I don’t feel obligated to like everybody is kind of difficult. She is an extrovert, I am an introvert. She doesn’t get why I wouldn’t make an effort to try and get to know most people, whereas I don’t understand why she would.
I’m not really that big of a jerk and I am nice to people in general I think, but some people I just...

I remember the Kansas City show at Uptown theater and I remember walking down the street after the show to a place I think was called “Chubby’s” and I was so hungry cause I hadn’t eaten all day and I got a great big plate of homefries and eggs and I was sated. And when I went back to the venue to get on the tour bus, I found that the bus was behind some locked gates which...

Don't ever tell Chris Thile that he looks like...
In honor of the latest installment in that horrible book/movie franchise, here is a twitter exchange that I saved because 1). I find it amusing 2). I am a creeper. Enjoy!
christhile: Dear Followers: There comes a time when men must be men: I hereby challenge that vampire dude to a bite/mandolin-off. Whatcha say, Robbie?
christhile: Thile kicks off a fierce Brilliancy, but what's this? Pattinson takes a chaw out of the fingerboard at the 4th fret...no more C#s or G#s!
christhile: But only in first position on the A and E strings!! Thile takes advantage of the oversight and begins jumping the octave where necessary...
christhile: ...unphased, Pattinson shoots one of his pattinted "I'm dangerous but sensitive" looks at Thile, who promptly vomits all over his mandolin!
christhile: Gasping for air, Thile tries to counter with his infamous "I'm trying to look sexy in a Nickel Creek music video" face! Pattinson vomits...
christhile: ...but so does Thile!! "HOW COULD ANYONE HAVE LET ME LOOK LIKE THAT IN PUBLIC!!!" he wails. Moved, Pattinson tries to console him...
christhile: IT'S A TRICK!! Thile wallops Pattinson with the business end of #75316, sending a pair of fangs and shards of wood sailing across the room!
punch brothers: @christhile I might have to buy a tazer for times like these.
punch brothers: And by I, I mean we...
christhile: My God!! The violent dismissal of the fake fangs have revealed (oh yeah...dig that sick Linkin Park jam revving up in the background)...
christhile: We interrupt this feed to bring you an important announcement from its beleaguered editor: The last "have" should've been "has." I'm sorry.
christhile: "OK, cue the Linkin Park." "Ah, c'mon...really?" "Damn it, Figgins, do as your told! Nothing says darkness like mall rock." And we're back!
christhile: ...ACTUAL FANGS (or perhaps just slightly pointy lateral incisors. Let's go with fangs, shall we?)!! Pattinson is a vampire FOR REALS!!
christhile: His Loar somewhere between mandolin and sawdust, Thile has nothing with which to combat the hissing, snarling, and mega-pissed Pattinson...
CritterEldridge: RT @gabrielkahane @christhile I'm seriously concerned. Twittervention to follow. This from a man tweeting about feeding carrots to horses.
christhile: @gabewitcher @robofmoose Gentlemen, you could save your mutual sense of good taste the offense with a simple tap of your fingers. Be brave!
christhile: Son of a...that'd be @mooseofrob You win me again!
gabewitcher: @christhile @robofmoose Mr. Moose, would you care to do the honors?
christhile: @gabewitcher @mooseofrob Wait a second...Pattinson has paid you guys off, huh! That ninny is trying to distract me. Foiled again, Robbie!!
christhile: ...except a bloodcurdling solo a cappella rendition of "Young," one of the more gruesome skeletons rattling around in Thile's musical closet!
christhile: Pattinson's hisses and snarls turn to screams that make those of the damned sound like postcoital sighs..."NOOOOO!! The lyrics are SO BAD!"
christhile: "Haha!!" Thile cackles, now scatting the riff he wrote 10 years ago whilst apparently under the impression that he was trying out for Petra.
christhile: The thought of vampiric life eternal in a world where such abuse of music is tolerated - nay, rewarded - is more than Pattinson can bear!
christhile: Desperate to save himself from Thile's aural assault by any means necessary, Pattinson grabs the severed headstock of the Loar-cum-club...
NoamPikelny: If I pried @christhile 's iPhone mid-tweet & threw it into the Colorado river, would I be protected under Good Samaritan laws?
christhile: In the blink of an eye, Pattinson fang-fashions its point into a spear, and with inhuman strength drives it clean through his black heart!
christhile: "Young and with n--" Thile finally falls silent, and not a moment too soon. Another word and his soul would surely have been lost forever!
christhile: With Pattinson vanquished, he's free to be told he looks like the older brother from Malcom In the Middle again. Victory, but at what cost?
christhile: The End. My sincerest apologies to all!
